Enjoying my coffee in bed, while catching up on the news.
As ever, when visiting my mum, I slept like a baby. In no small part due to the peace and quiet here in rural Fife. No screaming police sirens, no car horns blaring, no party boats floating down the Thames.
It’ll be quite a shock to the system to get back into my bed in London on Monday evening.
It’s only when I leave London that I notice the hellish amount of ambient noise in my daily environment.
And while I’m definitely getting more sensitive to noise as I age, London’s soundscape is still an assault on the senses.
In other words, I’m enjoying a break from the noise and revelling in some Scottish peace and quiet.
